Dear CCP,
Why is it everytime we have an extended DT, is ALWAYS in the bloody middle of the evening for us aussies (and otheras arounf the +9 to +11 TZ)
Perhaps we should look at how many aussies, kiwis, and other people from asia/oceania and hour many hours we get get ripped over a single year... Perhaps people in the TZ could get a small extension to our 'gametime' to compensate now and then...
2 hours out in 2 subsequent evenings makes me want to go play another game... Either spread out your extended DT's or compensate us please...
We get LESS value for money than others...

probably because the extended downtime is around lunchtime for the european time zones, and really early in the north american time zones which probably account for a good percentage of the playerbase

Then rather than move the DT's, compensate those in that TZ for being screwed with everytime CCP needs to make a change?

No problem, we'll just ask CCP staff in Iceland to get up somewhere at 3AM to accomodate you. No problem at all dude. God forbid you have to miss out on this game for a few hours.

Australian player base is what 5 - 6%?
Ok, let's do some math. Do I set downtime when it affects 95% of my player base or 5%?
Can I phone a friend on that one.
It has always been this way and it was this way when you started playing. Get over it (and yes I am Australian and I don't have to whine at DT). Perhaps you should go and play another game. That would be one less whiner on these damn forums. Only 149,999 to go.

Same gripe, different MMO.
They have to be down at some point for stuff. They schedule it to impact the least amount of players possible. Sorry you fall in a bad time zone for availability.

and to have the maximum number of staff available should things go wrong. As others pointed out, Aussies make up a very small total % of the player base and yet the Icelandic/British Devs make up a massive % of total operational staff so regardless of how it impacts you, the DT makes sense.

Dear Australia.
Please move the kick-off of the State of Origin series so it is more convenient for me to watch in the evenings. I pay my TV bills so I have as much right to watch it as you do, but it must happen at my convenience and nothing to do with the location it is held in or timezone of the majority of interested parties / ticket-holders / staff.
If you refuse I will throw my toys out of the pram and start claiming you are related to the head of the network, since I am unable to come up with a more reasoned response than "no u".

UK/ICELANDIC BUSINESS HOURS!!11!!! Every bloody time you people whine about this god kills 3 orphans, 2 newborn babies and at least 2 dozen kittens so please, PLEASE shut the **** up about downtime. It has always been at this time and it will remain at this time until the eventual goal has been reached of having zero downtime.
You aren't entitled to diddly squat in the way of compensation so forget it. I suggest you go and read the EULA and the terms and conditions you agreed to when you signed up to play this game.

Only difference now is that downtime doesn't take just 10 minutes any more  . I live in the UK and I still believe that downtime should be moved an hour earlier. But If they haven't done it in the last 8 years, they aren't going to do it now.
I do feel the pain of people GMT+8 to GMT+11 and believe it should move.

To the OP: You're definitely not the first person to whine about this. Instead of coming to the forums and whining, do something more constructive. How about moving to a time zone more compatible with your playing time? It's just as feasible as CCP moving the downtime. The downtimes happen during normal business hours in the UK/Iceland. So do like the rest of us, bear with it.

Why, oh why.... periodically we get one of these whines. It's been going on certainly since I started, and I assume since launch era, DT's have gotten so much shorter, unplanned DT's so much rarer, yet people still whine.....

Seriously **** poor attempt to derail this thread you idiot. Now go and find the section of the EULA and T&C's where it says that CCP can do whatever the hell they please with regards to THEIR game and that you only rent access to their server. These morons keep asking for compensation, or for downtime to be moved and its just not going to happen.
If people bothered to do a little bit of homework before shelling out money to play a game, finding out things like "is there a downtime and if so when" then EVE would be a much better place. After 8 years of downtime being when it is, it gets more than a little tiring seeing idiots whining about it. Here is a simple solution for those of you who really don't like it. DON'T PLAY EVE ANYMORE. there, simple.

Does Sky Sports give out refunds to its customers in the UK when The Ashes are being held in Australia?
Do they insist that the matches are played during the middle of the night so that UK viewers can watch them?

Whenever they start taking the server down for only your TZ then you will get less value for your money than others. As it stands now, everybody loses 2 hours of server time when the server is down for 2 hours.

Why not put a few extended DT's in the middle of USA peak times, srsly CCP I'm starting to think you don't care about us at all!
With the amount of hotfixes & patches & more fixes we are getting lately half the time I log on during the week I get about 15 minutes playtime before another extended DT.
We pay the same as the rest of the World & this is how we get treated - nullLike Second Class Citizens.
I'm one Aussie player that is really getting fed up with it.
